Risco, MO - The New Madrid County Major Case Squad takes on a bizarre case involving the disappearance of a Risco woman.

Police say 35-year-old Teresa Butler's husband reported her missing after he returned home from working an overnight shift at an Arkansas Steel MIll.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens says Butler 's husband found his two young sons left alone at the house.
"He noticed a Playstation missing from inside the home and also the stereo missing from his jeep that he had left parked outside," Stevens says.

Butler 's Jeep was taken away for processing as well, and the two children were with family, the Sheriff says.
Investigators quickly strung up crime scene tape around the house, and searched the property on foot, as well as from air, by bringing in the Highway Patrol airplane.

Beth Bixler, one of Butler 's longtime friends, says the two children were Teresa's life, and she would never even abandon them and wander off.

Bixler also says the Butler 's made Risco their home about five years ago, and appeared to be very happily married. She had never heard of Butler having any problems that could have been alcohol or drug related.

Police say they don't have any suspects, but they have not ruled out foul play.
They say they plan on being on the case, as long as it takes to come up with some answers.

If you have any information on Teresa Butler's whereabouts, please call the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department at (573) 748-2516, or the police nearest you.
